Releases Galore!

07 Oct

There is so much happening in the worlds of my favourite authors recently – so much so that I think I may have a heart failure. So many releases and announcements of new books, film adaptions, and more!

The soonest release is the long-awaited fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series, The House of Hades. A mere day away! Rick Riordan, King of the Cliffhanger, was seriously nasty at the end of The Mark of Athena, and I expect some epic storytelling to make up for that.

If this isn’t the most epic cover art you’ve ever seen… Then, um, you’ve seen more epic cover art…

But after this, there’s only ONE book left! I’m going to have to say goodbye to my fictional friends for a second time, and I don’t think my tears are going to hold this time round…

Another impending release is the second book in Lemony Snicket’s children’s series, All the Wrong Questions. When Did You See Her Last? has an October 15 release, only a week away!

Admittedly, the first book wasn’t as great as I had expected after the conclusion of A Series of Unfortunate Events, but I’m a loyal fan, and this series has four books to build up more excitement.

Recently, Maggie Stiefvater revealed that she’s written a book about Isabel and Cole, two of the main characters in her highly popular Shiver trilogy. It will be a companion novel to the main series, telling a story I really wanted to know more about – Isabel and Cole’s relationship after Forever, where they didn’t really get their happily ever after. Just the name of the book sends chills down my spine. Sinner…

Probably the biggest surprise I’ve had is with that of the announcement that JK Rowling is set to write a film for Warner Bros. set in the world of Harry PotterFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will tell the story of the textbook’s author, Newt Scamander, set in New York, around the year 1920. Rejoice, Potterheads! Our fandom rises again!

And finally, there is only a month and a half left before the much-anticipated release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in cinemas around the world.

Flawless Miss Jennifer Lawrence portrays Katniss perfectly!

I think The Hunger Games is one of the most accurate film adaptions of a book I’ve seen in my life so far, and remains one of my favourite film adaptions of one of my favourite books. I really hope the creators keep those feelings going for me. I have great expectations for this film!

What are some announcements and releases you’re excited about?
